Project Birdwatch

What is Project Birdwatch?

  • Our Mission

Within our mission, Project Birdwatch specifically focuses on birds facing the threats of pollution, habitat loss, and noise. Through fundraisers and outreach, we aim to bring the community together, building birdhouses and helping national nonprofits who can expand our impact. As we step into this new degraded environment, we run to create a future of birds chirping and raptors soaring.

  • Why

Project Birdwatch was launched because birds act as environmental indicators. By monitoring their populations and health, we can learn about the threats to our ecosystems like pollution, deforestation, and noise. By raising awareness of the challenges birds face, Project Birdwatch empowers everyone to take action and create a healthier environment for both birds and ourselves.

  • How We Help

Project Birdwatch hosts various fundraisers throughout the year to fight the decline of bird populations. A portion of the proceeds will be directly allocated to established nature conservancy organizations tackling the critical threats faced by avian populations, while the remaining funds will be used to purchase birdhouses for a community engaging event involving painting and crafts.

Bird Species Extinctions

Main Project

Main Project

All funds acquired from our various fundraisers will be dedicated to our primary initiative: building birdhouses to support birds in finding shelter and nourishment during challenging periods. With the continuous loss of birds' habitats, we must aid these creatures by constructing birdhouses and offering them sustenance. Families can participate in our events, creating, decorating, and hanging up numerous birdhouses across the park to collectively assist these birds.

Birdhouses make a difference.

We have lost over 3 billion birds since 1970, a fact we refuse to leave at rest. However, birdboxes have proven to create a real impact in countering this problem. In fact, in a study conducted by the Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation, 112 birdboxes were placed in western Wyoming, and in just one summer, these birdboxes fostered a whopping 217 bird eggs! This fascinating discovery inspired the foundation for this project, where we hope to, with your help, expand their impact by building more birdhouses in various locations and help reverse the loss of bird species from habitat loss across North America.
